Bienvenue . . .
Greetings, and
thank you for your visit. Everything has its season, and I hope you
are enjoying your season. I am. Sometimes a season exists inside
your head or perhaps body as well, as in an episode or stage in
life, and sometimes a season is, of course, physical and climatic,
with all its changes in the air and on our plates. As you know, I
wrote a book, French Women for All Seasons, on how to adapt
and embrace the seasons for pleasure and health.
As I also expect you know, well into a happy marriage and rich life
and business career, I wrote French Women Don’t Get Fat, and
it added a new chapter to my story. The impact of that book
certainly opened many doors and brought me into contact with
wonderful people around the globe. And, surprise, surprise, it is
now being developed into a movie. You never know. But it certainly
gratifies me to be able to share a little of my life’s experiences
and lessons learned toward helping readers enjoy life more fully.
My next book
will be out Fall 2009 and is entitled Women, Work and the Art of
Savoir Faire: Business Sense and Sensibility. Right after
stepping away from the corporate world, I wanted to share some of
those many years of lessons learned (many the hard way) as a
businesswoman toward making it easier for others to see and know
themselves and handle work and life effectively and pleasurably.
And there just are not many books on business written by a woman
with women in mind. And what I have written is in the style of my
previous books with personal stories that illustrate what I believe
are valuable insights toward the workplace and beyond. There are
even a few recipes. Now, that’s a business book like no other.
And speaking
of recipes, my current project is a French Women Don’t Get Fat
Cookbook, which by popular request will include 150 new recipes.
I am one of
those who believe that giving is better than receiving as it is full
of its own ennobling and sustaining rewards and am glad and proud
that so many people have used my simple ideas and philosophy to
regain their equilibrium, to live bien dans sa peau. The
success stories people have shared, the praise and encouragement I
have received from physicians and nutritionists to teenagers and
working mothers and really women of all ages and backgrounds inspire
me each day. The biggest challenge with maintaining a healthy
equilibrium is there is no such thing as one size fits all. No one
else knows your size but you, and we are not only talking of dress
size. So, we need to take control of what we think and what we seek
and what we put into our bodies.
I hope you will find useful information and pleasure in what I have
to share here and elsewhere. Bonne chance and bonne continuation.
